Single Parents

There are almost 2.86 million single parent families in the United Kingdom as of 2020, compared with over 3 million five years earlier in 2015. Between 1996 and 2012 the number of single parent families in the UK increased by almost 600 thousand, with that number falling to the amount seen in the most recent year. Family Support

AKA  Family Support, will offer you practical help and emotional support to help you if your  family is  experiencing short or long-term difficulties. AKA "Family Support" helps families access services and supports.

Benefits

  • Increases the strength and resilience of families

  • Supports parents as they help their children with special needs achieve their full potential

  • Improves community through early detection such ie harmful behaviour, financial difficulties ,relationship difficulties and emotional wellbeing concerns.

The BBC Children in Need Emergency Essentials Programme 

The BBC Children in Need Emergency Essentials Programme is only open to applications from registered referrers.

If you have a support worker, you can ask them to apply for a grant on your behalf.

We will also accept grant applications from a professional such as a teacher, GP, nurse, charity representative, housing or tenancy support worker.

www.disability-grants.org This website provides information on charities that provide grants for disabled people.

www.edfenergytrust.org.uk The Trust helps families and individuals living in fuel poverty, or who are struggling to pay for their gas and/or electricity. Grants are awarded to help clear those debts. The Trust also offers help via Further Assistance Payments to clear other priority household debts or purchase essential household items.

www.britishgasenergytrust.org.uk The British Gas Energy Trust focuses on fuel poverty, helping those who are struggling to pay for their consumption of gas and electricity get back on their feet and remain debt free going forward. The Trust can also help with other priority household costs and items in exceptional cases.

www.fhaonline.org.uk The Family Holiday Association provides holidays for parents and children who experience disadvantage as a result of poverty.

www.actionforkids.org Action for Kids supports young people with physical and learning disabilities through the provision of mobility aids, employability training and family support.

www.caudwellchildren.com Caudwell Children provide equipment, treatment, therapies and family support for disabled children and their families across the UK.

www.family-action.org.uk Family Action have both welfare and education grant programmes to help address the needs of disadvantaged families and individuals that struggle to afford basic needs and to pursue educational and employment ambitions.

South Yorkshire Community Foundation are co-ordinating flood support in that area.

Derbyshire County Council has set up the Derbyshire Floods Hardship Fund for Residents.
